Job summary

NR Consulting is seeking an experienced Lead Controls Engineer to support industrial automation and manufacturing operations. You will lead PLC programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and controls support across plant floor systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with Schneider Electric/Modicon PLCs, SCADA/HMI (Ignition & iFix), and vision systems from Keyence, Cognex, and SICK. You will work cross-functionally with teams and vendors to drive upgrades and integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience with proven programming skills.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA, SQL, scripting, server-based systems, and industrial controls.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead PLC programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and controls support.
• Troubleshoot automated production, conveyors, motors/drives, sensors, interlocks, and material-handling systems.
• Experience with SCADA/HMI – Ignition & iFix.
• Hands-on experience with Keyence, Cognex, and SICK scanning/vision systems.
• Troubleshoot industrial networks and plant-floor communications.
• Support controls upgrades, modernization, and system integration.
• Diagnose issues across PLC, electrical, communications, HMI/SCADA, and equipment.

• Troubleshoot industrial networks and plant-floor communications
