Job description

Position Overview
The Control Account Manager (CAM) will oversee financial planning, tracking, and analysis of designated control accounts within Sierra Space.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain control account plans in accordance with company policies and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and manage work breakdown structures (WBS) for assigned projects.
  • Monitor project performance against established baselines using earned value metrics.
  • Prepare and analyze variance reports, identifying root causes of cost and schedule deviations.
  • Forecast project costs and schedules based on current performance data.
  • Collaborate with project managers, functional managers, and technical leads to ensure accurate planning and reporting.
  • Lead regular status reviews with stakeholders to communicate project financial health.
  • Implement corrective actions to address performance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and contract requirements.
  • Work closely with the program’s Technical, Scheduling and Risk Leads and other CAMs to ensure cost, risk, schedule, and performance are aligned across the program.
  • Coach, teach, and mentor junior team members on EVM principles and practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree or 3+ years of additional experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Control Account Manager or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of earned value management systems (EVMS) and project control methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management and EVM software tools.
  • Experience with government contracting requirements (DCMA, FAR/DFARS) preferred.
  • PMP, EVP, or similar certification preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance (Active TS/SCI clearance preferred).

  • Pay Range: $128,084.00 – $176,115.50 (actual base compensation determined on a case‑by‑case basis).

Security Clearance
