Job Title: Contracts and Supplier Quality Specialist
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
The Contracts and Supplier Quality Specialist is a dual-role position combining support for customer contract execution with a leading role in supplier quality assurance. This position serves as a liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and customers—supporting the effective execution of contracts while maintaining rigorous supplier quality standards. The role ensures compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA regulations, and customer-specific requirements, while contributing to Jamco America’s goals in operational performance and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Contracts Coordination
- Support the Contracts Manager with lifecycle activities including document control, milestone tracking, and coordination of change orders.
- Assist in developing and maintaining contract templates, NDAs, and General Terms Agreements.
- Facilitate communication of contractual obligations across internal departments to ensure alignment.
- Help coordinate Program Kick-Off meetings and monitor deliverables through contract close-out.
- Collaborate with Finance and Customer Service to track billing milestones and manage warranty obligations.
Supplier Quality Assurance
- Assist in supplier evaluations and ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
- Conduct or support supplier audits and quality reviews.
- Investigate nonconformances and lead root cause analysis using methods such as 8D and 5 Whys.
- Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities and maintain supplier performance data.
- Help maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and execute the supplier audit schedule.
- Serve on the Material Review Board (MRB) for supplier-related nonconformances.
Quality System & Documentation Management
- Maintain and update Quality Management System documentation to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and coordinating audit responses.
- Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, supplier performance, and contract compliance.
Process Improvement and Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to align quality and contract expectations.
- Participate in initiatives to improve internal processes and enhance supplier readiness.
- Provide basic training and support related to quality requirements and contractual workflows.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Aviation, or related field preferred .
- Alternatively, 4–6 years of relevant experience in aerospace, quality assurance, or contracts support in lieu of a degree.
Technical Knowledge
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA regulatory environments.
- Familiarity with quality systems, contract documentation, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic quality tools.
Core Competencies
- Strong organization, documentation, and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage priorities, work independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
- On-site role based in an office environment, with occasional visits to manufacturing and supplier facilities.
- Some travel (up to 15%) may be required for supplier audits or customer engagements.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and conduct facility tours as part of job duties.
