Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a Contracts Senior Advisor (Renewable Energy) in a hybrid U.S. role to lead commercial contracting activities for utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects.

You will craft and negotiate major EPC and service agreements, partnering with Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Legal, and Finance teams to drive project objectives. You will mentor junior staff, manage risk, and help shape contract playbooks while ensuring alignment with company

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field; advanced degrees and certifications valued but not required
• Minimum 10 years of contract management, commercial negotiations, procurement, or strategic sourcing for large capital/infrastructure projects
• Experience drafting, negotiating, and administering complex commercial agreements (EPC, construction, engineering, procurement, supply, service, consulting)
• Understanding of project execution and risk considerations for large-scale projects

The Senior Contracts Advisor leads commercial contracting activities throughout the project lifecycle, negotiating EPC, supply, and service agreements ranging from several million to hundreds of millions of dollars. Working closely with teams across Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Executive Management, you'll help structure agreements, manage risk, and support business decisions that advance project objectives.

Serving as a trusted advisor and primary contracting partner to key business stakeholders, you'll influence complex negotiations, navigate competing priorities, and contribute to the successful delivery of renewable energy projects across ENGIE's growing portfolio.

What You'll Do

• Lead commercial contracting activities for utility‑scale renewable energy projects, including sourcing strategies, competitive solicitations, bid evaluations, vendor selection activities, and contract award recommendations
• Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a broad range of commercial agreements, including EPC, equipment supply, operations and maintenance, professional services, consulting, master service, confidentiality, change order, and other project‑related contracts
• Review commercial proposals, identify contractual deviations, and develop negotiation strategies that balance commercial objectives, project schedules, and risk considerations
• Lead negotiations with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other counterparties while serving as a trusted advisor throughout the contracting lifecycle
• Provide contract administration support during project execution, including guidance on change orders, claims, delays, liquidated damages, warranties, performance guarantees, and dispute resolution
• Evaluate contractual, commercial, financial, and operational risks, recommending appropriate risk allocation consistent with company standards and market practices
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve complex contractual matters, support business decisions, and advance project objectives
• Maintain and enhance contract templates, playbooks, procedures, and negotiation guidelines while driving process improvements and promoting contracting best practices across the organization
• Mentor junior contract professionals and contribute to knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the contracting function

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or a related field; advanced degrees and relevant professional certifications are valued but not required
• Minimum 10 years of experience supporting contract management, commercial negotiations, procurement, or strategic sourcing activities for large capital, infrastructure, industrial, energy, engineering, or construction projects. Experience supporting utility‑scale renewable energy, power generation, transmission, or other highly regulated environments is valued
• Experience drafting, negotiating, and administering complex commercial agreements, including EPC, construction, engineering, procurement, supply, service, consulting, or similar project‑based contracts
• Understanding of project execution and the contractual, commercial, schedule, insurance, legal, and risk considerations associated with large‑scale projects
• Knowledge of contract law principles, commercial risk allocation, governance frameworks, and contracting best practices, including contract playbooks, standardized processes, and negotiation strategies that support sound business and project outcomes
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions and balance competing priorities
• Ability to effectively communicate complex contractual and commercial concepts to technical, commercial, legal, and executive stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across geographically dispersed, cross‑functional teams while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and contract, procurement, project management, or collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Coupa, Microsoft Project, Visio, or similar platforms

Additional Details

• This role is eligible for our hybrid in‑office work policy and is not eligible for fully remote working
• Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
• Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Salary Range: $135,000 - $206,885 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
