Job description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are looking for a talented Contracts Manager to support this new and exciting initiative.


This role will be responsible for drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts including but not limited to MSAs, work orders, licensing agreements, and marketing, sponsorship and promotion agreements. Additional responsibilities will include process improvement, special projects, compliance research, problem solving, interacting with clients and outside counsel, coordinating legal research projects, performing trainings, helping to draft and implement policies, as well as managing discrete projects.


You will work with our in-house legal team as well as directly with business teams including marketing teams, engineering groups, and product management teams as they design our end-to-end customer experience. The successful candidate will possess the ability to complete high volumes of tasks and projects quickly, react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround, take effective action without having to know the total picture, and solve problems that affect people within the group or other related groups.


Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Minimum Qualifications:
  1. 5+ years of contracts management, paralegal, or other comparable experience within a law firm, government agency, or in-house legal department, with responsibility for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating the legal terms of a broad range of standard commercial contracts.
  2. Project management experience.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  4. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  5. Effective at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks of varying duration and complexity.
  6. Demonstrates judgment even in ambiguous situations.
  7. Curious, adaptable, enthusiastic, and enjoys working hard and being challenged in a fun, team-oriented environment.
  8. Legal department or law firm experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $146,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
