Job summary

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division in Euclid, OH is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead negotiations, mitigate claims, and secure favorable terms across FMC and Aerospace contracts.

You will build contract flow downs, train teams, supervise compliance with FAR/DFARS and export controls, and partner with legal, engineering, and programs to protect the business while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five (5) years of commercial experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs contracts function duties as directed by management across FMC and Aerospace groups.
• Participate in approval reviews for customer proposals for new business.
• Lead internal reviews of agreements with engineering, programs, and legal to ensure terms align with approvals and risk mitigation.
• Lead negotiations for new contracts and change proposals, potentially multi-site across Aerospace/FMC.
• Manage commercial execution to ensure entitlement to pricing and other benefits, and mitigate claims.
• Create contract flow downs and provide training on key contractual issues.
• Ensure compliance with Government requirements (FAR/DFARS) and data rights assertions.
• Maintain contractual documents in the Document Library to meet retention and standards.

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Contracts Manager. This is a hybrid work opportunity based at our Euclid, OH facility.

The Contract Manager is an integral part of the commercial team. The individual is required to lead negotiations on all aspects of contracts associated with the business. They may also occasionally lead and participate in negotiations for Aerospace Group Level, and/or FMC Division Level contracts as directed by management. In managing the assigned contracts it is expected that the Contracts Manager will successfully mitigate customer claims, submit assertions for out of scope work and customer program impacts, execute price increase entitlement. The role will also play a key role in supporting legacy business proposals and new business proposals to ensure favorable terms, compliance to any customer requirements, and compliant proposal submissions.

For new contracts it is expected that the individual will negotiate favorable business terms for Eaton and yet maintain strong customer relationships. The individual will be required to manage difficult situations with customers, and maintain a balanced approach to ensure we maintain our customer focused approach to doing business. They are also responsible for ensuring that all negotiations are conducted in accordance with Eaton’s ethics and values. A key element of the Contracts Manager's responsibilities will also include creating guides and tools that arm the broader business functions to execute and understand its customer agreements as effectively as possible.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year.

What You’ll Do

• Performs contracts function duties as directed by management including support of commercial function across FMC and Aerospace group
• Participate in approval reviews (Gate 0/1) customer proposals for new business.
• Lead internal review of Agreements with internal functions as applicable (engineering, programs, customer support etc) and Corporate functions ( legal, insurance etc.) to ensure business terms are in accordance with Eaton approvals, limits of authority and guidelines and ensure all risks and liabilities are fully understood and mitigated.
• Leads the negotiations for new contracts and contract change proposals, which may on occasions include multi-site negotiations for all of Aerospace and/or FMC division, as directed by management.
• Manages the commercial execution of contracts, and ensures our business receives its full entitlement to pricing and other commercial benefits which includes identifying and prosecuting assertions, scope changes and pricing opportunities. This includes protecting the business from customer claims such that all claims on the business are mitigated to the best degree possible
• Creates contract flow downs that are shared and distributed with key internal functions to ensure those responsible for executing the contract understand the ground rules in which they must operate. Provide training to other functions regarding key contractual issues.
• Ensures compliance with all Government Requirements (Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations. Lead submission and negotiation of Data Rights Assertions and Commerciality Assertions.
• Maintain custody of all contractual documents through Eaton’s Document Library software to maintain compliance with internal contract retention requirements and ISO9000, AS9100, and FAR and DFAR requirements
• Maintain positive customer interactions, proactively insuring contractual compliance and performance
• Facilitates and support process improvements within the contract and wider organization.

Qualifications

Required Basic Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of five (5) years of commercial experience
• Minimum of two (2) years contracts experience
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Aerospace contract terms, customer procurement processes, and contract law.
• Experience working with FAR, DFARS, and data rights issues. Strong knowledge of aerospace products and standard requirements and processes
