Job summary

Moog Inc. in East Aurora, NY is seeking a Contracts Lead who reports to the Director, Space Contracts and works onsite with a hybrid schedule. Position requires experience in U.S. Government contracting, FAR/DFARS compliance, and leading contract negotiations.

The role focuses on developing contract strategies, mentoring Contract Specialists, and collaborating with Defense Contracts teams to manage risk, ensure compliance, and support proposals and business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience in U.S. Government contracting.
  • Experience negotiating, drafting, and managing contracts under FAR/DFARS.
  • Experience leading or contributing to competitive and non-competitive proposals.
  • Strong influence, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop junior Contracts professionals.
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of contract strategies across programs, aligning with Moog’s objectives.
  • Develop and maintain professional growth for Contract Specialists and Program Administrators.
  • Collaborate with policy and training teams across the Defense Contracts organization.
  • Assist in rationalizing workloads to balance efforts across the organization.
  • Develop business relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers; support negotiations, renewals, amendments, and dispute resolution.
  • Advise on compliance with federal regulations, FAR/DFAR, company policies, and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor contract risk and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead or guide high-stakes contract negotiations with defense customers and government agencies.
  • Support proposal teams with contract terms, pricing strategies, risk identification, and compliance with solicitation requirements.
  • Monitor contract financial and operational performance; work with program teams to address issues and develop mitigation.

Salary and Location

Location: Buffalo, NY. Salary range: $90,000.00–$135,000.00 annually. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors such as location, experience, and performance.
