Job summary

Northwestern Medicine's Law Intern Program in Contracts offers hands-on exposure to contracting, vendor negotiations, and regulatory considerations within the Contracting Services team. The internship runs 10–12 weeks in the summer, with a Director pairing to guide a 3-month project aligned to NMH's strategic objectives.

You will shadow leadership, conduct legal research, develop templates, and present a final briefing to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited program and will have completed 2nd year by start of internship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and support Contracting Services leadership and contract managers in day-to-day contracting activities.
• Conduct legal and contracting research and assist with process-improvement initiatives and templates.
• Participate in internship activities including shadowing, lunches with senior leadership, meetings, and orientation sessions.
• Prepare and deliver a final presentation to senior leadership and the Contracting Services team summarizing the internship experience.
