Job summary

Continental General seeks a Contracts Attorney in its Legal Department to draft, review, and negotiate TPA and administrator contracts, and related agreements. The role owns the end-to-end contracting process, from intake to execution, with collaboration across Compliance, Operations, IT/Security, and business teams.

The ideal candidate has a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school, a Texas license or eligibility, and 3+ years in contracts or transactional law, preferably with TPA experience.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school is required.
• Active Texas law license or eligibility for admission is required.
• 3+ years of contracts, transactional, or commercial law experience.
• Experience with TPA/administrator agreements and RFP processes preferred.
• Strong drafting, review, and negotiation skills for insurance-related contracts.
• Ability to handle high-volume contracts under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update TPA contract templates, due diligence, and RFP materials.
• Draft, review, and negotiate TPA and administrator agreements and related exhibits.
• Own end-to-end TPA contracting process from intake to execution and tracking.
• Lead responses to RFIs, RFPs, and due diligence questionnaires with cross‑functional input.
• Negotiate other commercial agreements (vendor, real estate) as needed.
• Identify and escalate legal and business risk in contracts.
• Coordinate with regulatory teams on licensing and compliance in contracts.
• Track contract statuses, renewals, and deadlines; escalate as needed.
• Advise stakeholders on contract interpretation and dispute avoidance.
• Collaborate with outside counsel on higher‑risk transactions.
