Opportunity: Part-time (adjunct) Clinical Instruction as Platt College transitions to become Concordia University, St. Paul - Denver Campus

Join the CSP College of Nursing! We seek graduate-prepared nurses with expertise in adult medical-surgical nursing to teach our baccalaureate students in clinical settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge and influence future nurses across various shifts. The position may include teaching in simulation environments. Night owls are especially welcome to instruct students during night shifts.

Position Overview: Faculty at Concordia University, St. Paul (CSP) collaborate with full- and part-time colleagues to deliver engaging instruction to nursing students pursuing their BSN. Faculty are expected to innovate and excel in teaching, foster active intellectual engagement, and support the university's Christian mission. Delivering a high-quality student experience remains a top priority.

Course Description: NSG 385P (3.0 Credits) Practicum, Nursing Care of Adults and Older Adults I: Enables students to apply learned concepts and skills in healthcare settings. NSG 386P (3.0 Credits) Practicum, Nursing Care of Adults and Older Adults II: Focuses on applying concepts and skills in healthcare environments. NSG 420 (4.0 Credits) High Acuity Nursing Care: Prepares students to administer evidence-based care to patients across the lifespan in critical or emergent settings, emphasizing rapid critical thinking skills.

Course Instruction Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate quality student learning through assigned courses.
  • Deliver clinical instruction on scheduled dates.
  • Provide timely and substantive feedback on assessments within five business days.
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours during business days (48 hours on weekends).
  • Collaborate with academic advising and support teams to ensure student success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Follow university and department policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of a graduate degree in nursing from a nationally accredited Nursing Education Program. If holding a non-nursing graduate degree, must have a bachelor's in nursing and relevant field experience.
  • Experience: At least 3 years as an RN.
