Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio Company, seeks a contract Litigation Paralegal to support one or more litigation teams in docketing, calendaring, and case management for a high‑volume asbestos/toxic tort portfolio.

The role starts ASAP, duration 3–6 months with potential extension, and pay is $40-50/hour depending on experience. Primarily remote, but travel to offices in Kansas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; Houston, TX; Miami, FL; Orange County, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or San Francisco, CA may be required.

Job description

Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio Company, is currently seeking a contract Litigation Paralegal to support one of our law firm clients in their toxic tort / asbestos practice group.

Start: ASAP once offer accepted

Duration: 3-6 months, potential for extension

Pay Rate: $40-50/hour, DOE

Location: primarily remote work, but must be able to report to one of these offices as needed: Kansas City, MO, St. Louis, MO, Houston, TX, Miami FL, Orange County, CA, Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco, CA.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will be embedded with one or more of the firm's litigation legal teams to support docketing, calendaring, and case management functions across a high-volume litigation portfolio.

Responsibilities may include:

• Monitor, review, and interpret incoming case filings — including pleadings, deposition and hearing notices, and trial-setting orders — applying litigation judgment in coordination with the supervising attorney to determine deadlines and required calendar entries.
• Direct the calendaring team to update the firm's database, which flows into case trackers and other firm systems, and provide supporting information needed for accurate entry.
• Perform quality control on calendared work, drawing on substantive asbestos/toxic tort knowledge to confirm that entries accurately reflect submitted filings and that rescheduled or canceled events are updated rather than duplicated.
• Review and circulate daily docketing reports (generated from the BEC docketing program) to ensure attorneys are informed of new entries and calendar changes.
• Triage and elevate time‑sensitive or high-priority filings — such as motions for trial preference and PMK/representative deposition notices — to the appropriate legal team members.
