Job summary

First 5 Alameda County is seeking a Temporary Talent Acquisition Specialist to manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and interviewing to offers and onboarding. You will partner with hiring managers and the HR team to understand staffing needs and deliver a positive candidate experience while building a diverse talent pipeline.

As recruitment volume allows, you will also support general HR activities and projects, staying current on best practices and contributing to process

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years of full-time, relevant and progressively responsible experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university may be substituted for 4 years of experience. A Master’s degree may be substituted for an additional year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for open positions and ensure a positive candidate experience.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment plans.
• Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, direct outreach, networking, and other channels, with a focus on diverse candidate pools.
• Build relationships with passive candidates and maintain talent pipelines for current and future openings.
• Screen and interview candidates to assess their qualifications and alignment with position requirements.
• Provide backup support for scheduling interviews.
• Lead recruitment check-ins and provide the HR team with daily progress updates.
• Maintain consistent communication with hiring managers and candidates throughout the recruitment process.
• Manage reference checks and complete salary history documentation to support offer recommendations.
• Maintain accurate ATS records, update candidate statuses, and send decline communications.
• Stay current on recruitment trends and best practices. Recommend process improvements.
• Support general HR responsibilities as recruitment volume allows.
• Additional projects and duties as assigned.
