Job summary

First 5 Alameda County is seeking a Temporary Talent Acquisition Specialist to drive full-cycle recruitment for open positions, collaborating with hiring managers and the HR team to build a diverse, robust talent pipeline. The role focuses on delivering a positive candidate experience and aligning staffing plans with organizational needs.

You will source candidates through multiple channels, screen and interview, and maintain accurate ATS records while supporting broader HR initiatives as

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years of full-time, relevant and progressively responsible experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university may be substituted for 4 years of experience. A Master’s degree may be substituted for an additional year of experience.
• Knowledge of Recruiting and sourcing best practices.
• Understanding of HR policies and employment laws/regulations.
• Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging principles in recruitment.
• Knowledge of interview techniques and evaluation methods.
• Labor market trends and talent pools.
• Cross-cultural sensitivity.
• Planning and project management.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for open positions and ensure a positive candidate experience.
• Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, direct outreach, networking, and other channels, with a focus on diverse candidate pools.
• Screen and interview candidates to assess qualifications and fit.
• Provide backup support for scheduling interviews.
• Maintain ATS records and candidate communications.
• Conduct reference checks and salary history documentation for offers.
• Stay current on recruitment trends and best practices.
• Support general HR responsibilities as volume allows.
• Lead recruitment check-ins and provide updates to HR leadership.
