Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Sustainability Analyst for a prominent client in San Francisco, CA. The role focuses on corporate sustainability reporting, GHG accounting, and emissions analytics across Scope 1-3, with a strong emphasis on Scope 3.

You will analyze large datasets, prepare documentation for third-party assurance, and support CDP disclosures, using advanced Excel, SQL, Python, and data visualization tools. This is a 6-month hybrid contract in San Francisco (3 days onsite).

Qualifications

• Experience in greenhouse gas accounting, including Scope 3.
• Background in ESG reporting or sustainability data analysis.
• Experience supporting GHG inventory through third-party assurance or audits.
• Familiarity with GHG Protocol methodologies (spend-based, activity-based, hybrid, average-data, supplier-specific).
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and large dataset QC.
• SQL and Python experience preferred.
• Tableau or data visualization experience.
• Familiarity with Salesforce Net Zero Cloud is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support corporate sustainability reporting and compliance programs.
• Perform GHG emissions calculations (Scopes 1-3) with focus on Scope 3.
• Analyze, clean, and validate large sustainability datasets.
• Assist third-party assurance audits and CDP disclosures.
• Perform quality control and reporting using spreadsheets and data tools.
