IAT Insurance Group has an opening for an Underwriting Internship in our Contract Surety Business Unit located in Spring, Texas for Summer 2027. The internship begins May 27, 2027 and ends July 30, 2027.

Qualifications

Rising sophomore or higher pursuing a degree as listed.
Must be able to work at Spring, Texas office without housing or relocation.
Must complete the full 10-week internship (May 27, 2027 – July 30, 2027).
Willingness to learn financial analysis.
Analytical thinking skills required.
Strong communication with technical and non-technical resources.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently.
Above-average computer skills.
Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

Participate in educational sessions with underwriting, product, and claims experts.
Set individual goals and work toward them during the summer.
Learn the basics of underwriting and apply concepts to actual accounts; present findings.
Organize and present a capstone project to the underwriting team and peers.
Perform other duties as needed.
