Our client is seeking a skilled Contract Structural Fitter Welder for a short-term assignment lasting approximately 3–4 months. This role is ideal for a motivated tradesperson with strong welding and fabrication experience, particularly with carbon steel. Candidates must be able to fit directly from technical drawings and produce high-quality, accurate work.
Assignment Duration: 90–120 Days
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $25 – $30/hour (Based on Experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to fabricate and fit structural components.
- Perform MIG and FCAW welding on carbon steel (experience with aluminum and stainless steel is a plus).
- Set up and operate welding equipment and hand tools to ensure high-quality welds.
- Use measuring and testing equipment to verify fabrication accuracy and alignment.
- Collaborate with engineering and design personnel to improve fabrication efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures.
- Take ownership of weld quality and accuracy of finished components.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Welding certification from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated experience as a Structural Fitter Welder with a proven work history.
- Proficiency in MIG and FCAW welding techniques.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and perform customized fabrication.
- Familiarity with CNC machines and standard shop fabrication processes.
- Skilled in using measuring and testing instruments.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a self-motivated work ethic.
- Effective communication skills—both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage workload efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be able to follow safety rules and operational procedures consistently.
