Job summary

Mozilla in the United States is looking for a WebCompat engineer to help reduce the Firefox bug backlog by finishing or verifying diagnoses of long-tail site-breakage reports and by drafting interventions or simple AI-assisted fixes. You will work with AI tooling to speed up diagnosis and fixes.

Responsibilities include reproducing and triaging incoming reports, delivering actionable bug summaries, and landing fixes in coordination with the WebCompat team.

Qualifications

• Solid web development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript; comfortable debugging real-world site breakage.
• Fluent with browser devtools and cross-browser diagnosis.
• Comfortable using AI tooling to speed up diagnosis and fixes.

Job description

You will help reduce Firefox’s WebCompat bug backlog by finishing or verifying the diagnosis of the long tail of site-breakage bugs, and by writing interventions or simple fixes (often with AI assistance). You turn a large queue of reported breakages into diagnosed, actionable, or fixed bugs.
