Job summary

Carriage Services is seeking a Staff Accountant II to support monthly close for Funeral Home locations, performing detailed financial review and analyses.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with 3+ years of general ledger experience and strong Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle Hyperion Essbase, or OneStream is a plus. This is a 3-month contract with hourly compensation of $40–$45.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is required.
• At least 3 years of general ledger experience.
• Strong Excel skills are required; experience with automated ledger applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial review and analysis during monthly close for Funeral Home Location.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with Corporate and Field Personnel to provide explanations for financial analysis.
• Prepare journal entries with adequate supporting documentation.
• Work with field location processors and Managing Partners to resolve issues during month-end and throughout the month.
• Review monthly inventory reconciliations and coordinate with locations to resolve discrepancies.
