Job summary

The Department of Commerce seeks a Contract Specialist (COM2) to support the State Home Energy Assistance Program (SHEAP) within the Community Services Division. The role emphasizes contractor compliance, monitoring, and technical assistance to partners across Washington State.

This project-based position involves desk audits and ongoing work to improve program management systems, with an end date of July 31, 2027, and location flexible within Washington state.

Qualifications

• Six years of combined education and/or experience supporting community-based organizations or implementing public programs.
• Strong facilitation, coaching, and relationship-building skills across diverse partners.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations and compliance procedures.
• Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism competencies.
• (Preferred) Experience with non-profit organizations, community action agencies, or Native American Tribal organizations.
