The Building People is seeking a Contract Specialist to support federal contracting activities. The role involves market research, acquisition planning, and issuing RFQs/RFPs/IFBs, with responsibilities for cost analysis, proposal evaluation, and contract administration.

A background check will be required and telework may be subject to client needs. Bachelor's degree is required, and the position offers competitive benefits and the opportunity to work with government programs.

Qualifications

• At least four (4) years of experience in federal contracting.
• A thorough understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements.
• Excellent written and oral communication skill.

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Contract Specialist.

The Contract Specialist Will

• Conduct market research and acquisition planning.
• Prepare and issue solicitations, including Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Invitations for Bids (IFBs).
• Develop source selection plans and evaluation criteria.
• Perform cost and price analysis.
• Assist in the evaluation of proposals and quotes.
• Prepare contract award documents.
• Administer contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
• Monitor contractor performance and progress.
• Process contract modifications.
• Review and process invoices for payment.
• Assist in the resolution of claims and disputes.
• Perform contract closeout procedures.

Required Experience & Skills

• At least four (4) years of experience in federal contracting
• A thorough understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements
• Excellent written and oral communication skill

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Understanding of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications.
• Our positions may require a background screening and clearance directly from the Government.
