Job summary

The Building People, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Contract Specialist to support federal contracting efforts. The role emphasizes market research, drafting solicitations, source selection, and cost analysis to ensure compliant, cost-effective contracts.

You will administer contracts, monitor performance, process amendments, and resolve disputes while coordinating with stakeholders and government counterparts.

Qualifications

  • At least four (4) years of experience in federal contracting.
  • Thorough understanding of the FAR and its supplements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and acquisition planning.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and IFBs.
  • Develop source selection plans and evaluation criteria.
  • Perform cost and price analysis.
  • Assist in evaluating proposals and quotes.
  • Prepare contract award documents.
  • Administer contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Monitor contractor performance and progress.
  • Process contract modifications.
  • Review and process invoices for payment.
  • Assist in the resolution of claims and disputes.
  • Perform contract closeout procedures.

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Contract Specialist.

The Contract Specialist will:

  • Conduct market research and acquisition planning.
  • Prepare and issue solicitations, including Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Invitations for Bids (IFBs).
  • Develop source selection plans and evaluation criteria.
  • Perform cost and price analysis.
  • Assist in the evaluation of proposals and quotes.
  • Prepare contract award documents.
  • Administer contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Monitor contractor performance and progress.
  • Process contract modifications.
  • Review and process invoices for payment.
  • Assist in the resolution of claims and disputes.
  • Perform contract closeout procedures.
Required Experience & Skills
  • At least four (4) years of experience in federal contracting
  • A thorough understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Understanding of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
