Job summary

Rhoads Industries, a historic family-owned leader in industrial fabrication and maritime services, seeks a Contracts Specialist to manage and oversee department contracts.   • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) preferred.
  • 3–5 years of contracts administration or related experience with cost-reimbursable contracts.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Proficiency with federal contracting principles and contract administration practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret contractual documents and financial reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe or similar tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and project coordination abilities.
  • Ability to obtain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee contracts for the department in accordance with goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Handle acquisition, distribution, and storage of purchases.
  • Incorporate clarifications and amendments into final contracts.
  • Maintain and audit a central contract-resource file and ensure procedural controls are in place.
  • Support defense-related contracting and compliance with FAR/DFARS.

We are currently looking for a Contracts Specialist to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. This position is focused on managing and overseeing contracts for the department. Ensures contracts are consistent with management's goals, policies, and procedures. Handles the acquisition, distribution, and store of purchases. Assures that all clarifications and amendments of negotiations are incorporated into the final contract. Generates, maintains, and audits a central contract-resource file. Ensures that necessary procedural controls exist. This role involves specific responsibilities related to defense contracts and requires understanding federal regulations, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). This role provides a foundation for understanding the complexities of government contracting, offering opportunities for growth and advancement within the DoD contracting field. Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
  • Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in contracts administration, regulatory compliance, or a related analytical role with direct experience managing cost-reimbursable and other flexibility priced contracts.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Proficient in federal contracting principles, cost reimbursable type contracts, and contract administration practices.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contractual documents, financial reports, and technical materials.
  • Proficiency with common office applications such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe, or similar products.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven experience coordinating projects, managing contract actions, and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage a variety of projects and deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced contracting environment.
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

  • The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving in an automobile.
