Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking an SEO Specialist contractor to support organic search across multiple K12-powered schools. The role focuses on execution: on-page optimization, content refreshes, and data-backed briefs for priority pages to help families find school options via organic and AI-assisted search.

The position is remote, contractor-based, typically 40 hours/week, with performance-based updates and collaboration across the network. Prior experience in EdTech or multi-location orgs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of hands-on SEO experience in-house or agency.
• Strong keyword research and search intent mapping skills.
• Proficiency with SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, GSC, GA).
• Proven ranking and traffic improvements supported by examples.
• Knowledge of indexation, canonicals, internal linking, and structured data.
• Clear written communication and ability to edit content for SEO.

Responsibilities

• Perform keyword research and analyze search intent for pages/topics.
• Execute on-page optimization: titles, meta tags, headers, content, internal links.
• Refresh priority content based on rankings and traffic data.
• Apply local SEO best practices to school location pages.
• Identify and report technical issues (indexation, canonicals, crawl errors).
• Create data-backed content briefs with keywords, intent, structure.
• Review writers' content prior to publication.
• Provide monthly performance updates on rankings/traffic.
• Collaborate with team to follow SEO templates and guidelines.
