Job summary

Ubertal Inc. seeks a Senior Database Administrator in Tallahassee, FL for an 8-month staff augmentation role. You will manage architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas across platforms while upholding data security standards.

Your responsibilities include daily DBA tasks, performance tuning, and mentoring junior staff, with expertise in DB2 z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle environments. This contract requires strong problem solving and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• 12 years combined experience in database administration across DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server 2008R2, 2012, and Oracle 10g and above
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration, performance management, database administration, upgrading, catalog maintenance, and sub-system point-in-time recovery
• Advanced knowledge of JCL
• In-depth knowledge of the z/OS integrated platform, CA GEN model management, application object support, ISPF, ASG Scheduler, and COBOL
• In-depth knowledge of DB2 for z/OS database monitoring tools, z/OS software monitoring tools, and technical infrastructure implementation planning and coordinating
• Solid working knowledge of z/OS started task creation and management, IBI z/OS service support, AFOPER commands, RACF, CICS, IOF, and Disaster Recovery technical requirements
• Solid working knowledge of Oracle and MSSQL application integration, performance management, and database administration
• Solid working knowledge of verification testing techniques for infrastructure change management
• Working knowledge of z/OS EXITs, BJS, Windows Servers, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, and Azure
• Strong core proficiencies in communication, customer service, decision making, flexibility, interpersonal relations, leadership, problem solving, team building, and quality assurance

Responsibilities

• Daily operational and database administration activities
• Plan, design, implement, support for database structures
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation
• Perform SQL Code reviews
• Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff
• Perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested
