Job summary

Cybersecurity Jobs seeks a contract AppSec engineer in Minneapolis with remote-friendly work locations across Dallas, Cincinnati, and Portland. Focus areas include threat detection, incident work, threat analytics, and security training.

The role requires hands-on experience with SAST/DAST/SCA, Gitlab/Jenkins integration, AI scanning, Docker, Helm charts, cloud management, and automation with Java/Python/Groovy.

Qualifications

• AppSec detection experience including SAST, SCA, DAST, plus Gitlab and Jenkins integration.
• Experience with AI LLM scanning, AI skills, and agent security.
• Working knowledge of Docker containers, Helm charts, and cloud management.
• Automation with Java, Python, and Groovy.
• Penetration Testing (PT) experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and incident detection: Analyze attack trends and correlate logs across systems to identify advanced threats.
• Enhance monitoring processes and implement improvements to support faster detection and alignment with security frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Incident handling and analysis: Conduct root cause analysis.
• Create incident response plans and implement disaster recovery measures to help minimize business disruption.
• Threat assessment and analytics: Perform forensic analysis using advanced analytics tools.
• Implement mitigation measures aligned with compliance requirements.
• Stakeholder coordination and audit assistance: Liaise with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and auditors to support compliance with security frameworks.
• Maintain audit documentation, ensuring accuracy while implementing processes that support audit readiness and continuous compliance.
• Training and awareness: Assist in creating and delivering cybersecurity awareness sessions, including guidance on phishing and malicious emails.
