Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Contract Registered Nurse for the Main Operating Room. The 13-week seasonal assignment requires at least 2 years of perioperative RN experience, a Florida RN license, a BSN, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years perioperative RN experience; able to work independently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; RN license in Florida.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required.
• Robotic and orthopedic perioperative experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide circulating or scrub nurse support during operative procedures in the OR.
• Assist in robotic and general surgery cases as assigned.
• Deliver nursing care in perioperative services following policy and standards.
• Adhere to Tampa General Hospital mission, quality improvement, and professional guidelines.

Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients in the OR and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.

Functions as a circulating or scrub nurse as assigned during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification.

Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement. Will be assisting in robotic and general surgery cases.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association

Two years perioperative RN experience required

Scrub experience strongly preferred

Neurosurgical experience required

Orthopedic experience required

Robotic experience strongly preferred
