Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and data maintenance.
• Collect and store specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens per required temperatures and protocols.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer calls and read lab results.
