Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Phlebotomist (6011) for a contract role in Clearwater, FL. The position supports busy lab operations with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and data entry, with a focus on accuracy and sterility.

The contract runs about 3 months with potential for permanent placement; schedule Mon–Fri, 7am–3:30pm. Must have phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling and temperature control.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
