Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract-to-perm opportunity in Clearwater, FL. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and processing in a busy lab environment. The position runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with an initial 3-month contract and potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification in the state of employment in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions and labels for 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store per required temperatures.
• Label and transport specimens to maintain integrity per protocols.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results as needed.
