Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging and documenting data.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and label accurately.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity.
• Follow OSHA/DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer inquiries and read laboratory results as needed.
