Job summary

The H. T. PROF Group is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist for a contract position in Wichita, KS. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and ensuring proper handling and transport of samples.

You will troubleshoot workflow, assist in training, and contribute to efficient lab operations with a minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience and a valid phlebotomy certification where required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and other specimen collection as required
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles; understand orders
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and labels
• Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures
• Attend annual department trainings and assist with compliance procedures
