Kingfisher Recruiting is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Washington DC. The position requires blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to lab procedures.

The candidate should be comfortable with geriatric patients and able to work 7am-4pm on weekdays plus Saturday mornings, with a 3-month contract and potential for permanent placement. The role involves performing venipuncture, processing samples, and maintaining accurate patient information in the lab system.

Qualificações

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity.
