Job summary

RPh on the Go seeks a licensed Pharmacist for a 13-week contract in a Long Term Care Mail Order environment at West Jordan, UT. The role requires a PharmD, active pharmacist license, and 1+ year of pharmacist experience.

Responsibilities include dispensing medications, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining patient records, and providing patient counseling. Schedule is Wed-Fri 9:00–19:30 and Sat 14:00–18:00, with potential for additional patient services and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree required.
• Active Pharmacist license required.
• Minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience.

Responsibilities

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication use to identify compliance or over-usage issues.
• Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal requirements.
• Verify appropriateness of prescribed medicines for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records in compliance with pharmacy standards.
• Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions.
• Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medication usage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
• Offer additional patient services, including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
• Train patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
• Identify and communicate drug-related patient issues with healthcare providers effectively.
