Job summary

Heunets Inc. in Danville, IL is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join as a 1099 independent contractor.

You will provide day-to-day onsite desktop support, assist users with hardware and software issues, and document steps in our ticketing system. Ideal candidates have at least 18 months IT experience, strong Windows and Active Directory skills, familiarity with MS Office 365, and the ability to communicate clearly with users and collaborate across shifts to ensure consistent IT

Qualifications

• Must have IT experience and knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Proficient in Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
• Experience with MS Office 365, PC hardware installation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with antivirus solutions and enterprise security practices.
• Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems and documenting resolutions.
• Knowledge of Mac OS basics to support Apple users.
• Experience with mobile device management (iOS/Android) and encryption tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide first/second level support and resolve customer issues.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for complex AV issues.
• Communicate issue status and resolutions in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate ticket updates for all incidents.
• Install and troubleshoot Windows OS versions and Office suite.
• Support printers, PCs, laptops, and peripherals.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose network connectivity and workstation hardware/software problems.
• Apply broad IT knowledge across networks, servers, AV, and telecoms.
• Be flexible to work in a project-based environment and handle other duties as assigned.
