Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Contract Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes across the production line.

You will collaborate with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams, applying Lean and Six Sigma to cut costs, boost throughput, and maintain high quality. This is a contract position and requires hands-on problem solving, safety, and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a engineering field (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial).
• Minimum 5+ years in manufacturing or production engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve quality.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and process diagrams.
• Collaborate with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma to boost performance and lead tool/equipment design and procurement.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions; conduct time and motion studies.
• Support continuous improvement and safety compliance across the facility.
• Evaluate new technologies and automation to enhance capabilities.
