Job summary

The NYC Department of Social Services is seeking a Contract Specialist II to manage and monitor complex contracts within the Office of Civil Justice. You will analyze audit reports, support budgeting, and ensure compliance with city regulations while coordinating with various stakeholders.

Under supervision, you will perform site visits, prepare comprehensive performance reports, and recommend actions to improve contractor outcomes.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and six months of relevant experience in program evaluation, contract negotiation/management, fiscal/financial management, or project management.
• A high school diploma and four years of relevant experience in the same fields; or education/experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Analyze contractors' audit reports and documents to assess performance and compliance with contract terms.
• Collaborate with supervisory staff to develop and maintain audit mechanisms for contractor evaluation.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors on agency procedures, mandates, and regulations.
• Assist contractors in proposal development by reviewing data and budgets.
• Advise supervisors on funding decisions, including defunding or non-renewal of contracts.
• Coordinate record retention and ensure compliance with city schedules.
