We instill an environment where employees feel engaged, satisfied and able to contribute their unique skills and talents while living and working as their authentic selves. We provide extensive opportunities for personal and professional development, building both employee competence and organizational capability to fuel exceptional performance through an inclusive environment both now and in the future.

Summary

In this role, you will serve as a contracting subject matter expert within Vizient, supporting the Mayo Clinic’s Capital, IT, and Purchased Services teams. You will support and execute a wide range of contract administration activities, including managing the contract lifecycle, assisting with agreement negotiations, conducting final contract reviews, facilitating stakeholder communications, and coordinating contract launch and implementation efforts. As a Contract Manager, you will collaborate within multi-disciplinary work groups, ensuring alignment among internal stakeholders, suppliers, and category managers to drive timely and effective contract execution.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Mayo Clinic Capital, IT, and Purchased Services teams to drive strategic sourcing outcomes, support internal and external meetings, and promote operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for lower-complexity agreements—such as NDAs, evaluation agreements, amendments, and addenda—covering bid planning, contract launch, and full lifecycle management with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborate with Category Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to apply best practices in eSourcing, supplier engagement, and contract structuring to deliver value.
  • Interpret financial data, market trends, and healthcare intelligence to inform sourcing strategies and strengthen negotiation positions.
  • Manage contract development and compliance by advising on legal terms, mitigating risk, and ensuring adherence to contract standards and templates.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, Category Managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with member needs and competitive market standards.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives that address escalated contract issues and drive continuous improvement in sourcing and contracting processes.
  • Communicate contract changes and critical updates to internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, compliance, and timely implementation.
  • Support training, onboarding, and knowledge-sharing efforts related to contracting tools, sourcing technologies, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Monitor contract performance metrics to ensure adherence to compliance standards, service-level expectations, and internal process timelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by supporting additional projects and special assignments as needed to meet evolving team and member priorities.
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree in Business, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience in contracting, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management required.
  • Experience with capital equipment, IT infrastructure/software, or purchased services strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of contracting principles, vendor relationship management, and relevant product/service categories.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple deadlines in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, including the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and drive results.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial, utilization, and market data to inform decisions.
  • Working knowledge of Mayo Clinic departmental requirements and business practices to deliver solutions that meet product and service needs while ensuring high‑quality customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); additional comfort with sourcing or contract management platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to understand and respond to stakeholder requirements.
  • Collaborative and team‑oriented approach to problem‑solving and process improvement.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
