Job summary

Qualifications

• Contract management experience within Utilities or Construction including governance and changes.
• Experience with contractor performance tracking and reporting.
• Familiarity with EPC contracts.
• Knowledge of project management, plant maintenance or engineering concepts.
• Ability to negotiate with senior management, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with power industry equipment (turbines, generators, boilers, MCCs, breakers, valves).
• Maximo or similar purchasing software knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the commercial single point of contact between the business unit and contractors during contract execution.
• Ensure contract compliance with Supply Chain and other policies.
• Manage contract provisions and coordinate contract change orders with stakeholders.
• Provide commercial contract governance and contribute to contract development and improvement.
• Track and report contractor performance against requirements.
• Coordinate internal resolution of commercial disputes with Risk Management, Legal and leadership.
• Lead contractor relationship management and expedite parts and services to support schedules.
• Conduct hands-on negotiations and troubleshooting to ensure delivery of equipment and services.
• Perform off-site visits to contractor fabrication and equipment shops to monitor progress.
• Support schedule objectives driven by deadlines.

Job description

Our client seeks a Contract Manager to support services, equipment supply, and materials contracts for a major Engineering, Procurement, and Construction program. The role will manage contract governance, change orders, performance tracking, reporting, and commercial dispute resolution in coordination with internal stakeholders. The position will lead contractor relationship management, negotiations, troubleshooting, and expediting of parts and services to meet schedule and regulatory commitments.

This role is remote to start but must eventually be able to be on‑site 3-4 days/wk in Anderson, SC within 6 to 9 months from start date.

Rate: $42.00 to $52.00/hr. w2

Experience Requirements

• Contract management experience within Utilities or Construction industries including negotiation, troubleshooting, governance, development, and improvement.
• Experience with contractor performance tracking and reporting.
• Experience working with EPC contracts preferred.
• Knowledge of project management, plant maintenance, or engineering concepts.Ability to negotiate and influence internal senior management, suppliers, and stakeholders using commercial acumen.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with power industry equipment such as turbines, generators, boilers, motor control centers, breakers, and valves.
• Preferred knowledge of Maximo or similar purchasing software.
