Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee initiation, monitoring, and compliance with contracting policies. This unclassified, at-will position reports to administrative leadership and supervises staff in an office environment.

The role includes directing training programs for contracting staff, developing annual compliance work plans, and enhancing contracting systems. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and several years of contract management experience, including

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in contract management and compliance, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction in implementing the practices and procedures established for contract initiation, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Provides for oversight of initiation, monitoring, and compliance projects
  • Directs and implements a comprehensive training program for contracting staff in the department or organization.
  • Develops annual compliance work plans and objectives.
  • Identifies need for and develops improvements to contracting programs, policies and procedures.
  • Manages the development of various technological tools and systems related to contracting.
  • Trains, evaluates, and supervises assigned employees.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
