Job summary

Valiant Integrated Services is seeking a Contract Maintenance Manager to lead the coordination and execution of contract requirements for a major facility project. You will oversee schedule development, safety compliance, and budget management while coordinating internal and subcontracted resources.

The role requires a technical background with extensive experience in healthcare facility operations, OSHA/EPA/NFPA standards, and a strong supervisory skill set.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in medical/health care facility operations, maintenance and renovation.
  • Experience with NFPA, EPA, TJC, OSHA codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of lab accreditation standards (AIHA, ISO).
  • Technically qualified in Healthcare Facilities Maintenance Management.
  • Available by phone 24/7; travel to job locations by automobile.
  • Spanish speaking is desired.

Job description

Valiant is looking for a Contract Maintenance Manager (CMM) to join our team! The CMM is responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and execution of the contractual requirements, Service Orders (SO) Quality Control (QC), safety, operations and maintenance. This position requires a technical background and experience in various functions; a knowledge and understanding of contracting procedures and authorization processes; and a strong management background with conflict resolution skills and negotiations. The CMM is responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of contract compliance. As CMM, implements corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy in the performance of the project. The CMM is required to integrate customer requirements and participation into a comprehensive management plan that is fully coordinated with all functional elements within the company’s responsibilities and setting expectations; control and manage assigned project's budget(s), inventory and schedule assuring that the company’s commitments to the customer and quality services are met; and serve as the company's main point of contact for customer and other external agencies on the assigned project.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Applies an extensive knowledge of Facility Management concepts, principles, methods, practices, and processes related to contract management and maintenance principles
  • Will provide schedule development, technical direction, and coordinate internal and subcontracted resources.
  • Will provide supervision of all staff including union and nonunion personnel.
  • Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are followed by all employees.
  • Ensures schedule and cost goals are being met daily and that the SOW on this project is completed satisfactorily.
  • Ensures that Site Security is in accordance with the primary contract and/or as defined/instructed by the Contracting Officer.
  • Enforces site safety in accordance with the primary contract and the approved Site Safety and Health Plan (Accident Prevention Plan).
  • Controls and manages project milestones and budgets from planning through operations.
  • Reviews project progress measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost.
  • Reconciles customer concerns assuring that all participating parties are informed of project progress, issues, and impacts.
  • Ensures all contract deliverables including reporting requirements are met on time.
  • Works under the direction of the Regional Operations Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education And Certification Requirements
  • BS degree in Engineering or architecture or 15 years’ experience in trades.
  • American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification is required.
  • 10 Hour OSHA General Industry Training Certification and the 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health Training Course.
Desired Certifications

  • USACE Quality Management Course for Contractors Desired.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in medical/health care (bedded-inpatient) occupancy facility operations, maintenance, and renovating commercial buildings, including the supervision of a diversified work force responsible for 24-hour (24/7/365) operations, maintenance and repair of medical facility systems.
  • Experience with NFPA, EPA, TJC, OSHA codes and standards.
  • Have working experience in/with NFPA, EPA, OSHA, AAALAC, BMBL, Contract Appendix B, ISO 17025 & 9000, and other laboratory standards accreditations, AIHA, NRC.
  • Technically qualified in the field of Healthcare Facilities Maintenance Management.
  • Technically qualified in the field of research laboratory or medical facility management.
  • 10+ years’ experience in research, laboratory, or medical facility maintenance.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 3+ years of government medical research or hospital operations management experience.
  • Be available by phone, 24 hours per day. (Monday through Sunday, including holidays).
  • Travel to job locations by automobile.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Able to read, write, and follow directions in the English language. Spanish speaking is desired.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, bend and step in industrial environments on a frequent basis.
  • Have sufficient vision, either natural or corrected, to identify safety signs, warnings, etc.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Work in a sitting position for 8 or more hours per day.
  • Have sufficient hearing, either natural or corrected, to respond to alarms, sirens, etc.
