Job summary

Journeys In Community Living in Murfreesboro, TN, is seeking a contracted maintenance handyman available Monday–Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM as needed to perform repairs and upkeep of residential homes and equipment.

The role covers plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, fixture installation, safety checks, and routine maintenance. Experience with basic systems and a valid Tennessee driver?s license is preferred, with background clearance required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Proven experience as a handyman or in a related maintenance field.
• General knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
• Good problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
• Successful clearance of background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC problems.
• Carpentry work: painting, shelving, doors, and windows.
• Maintain and repair appliances.
• General building maintenance: cleaning, bulbs, minor remodeling.
• Install fixtures like lights and toilets.
• Conduct walk-through assessments to identify repairs.
• Manage tools and equipment.
• Follow health and safety rules and report hazards.
