Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in the United States (OH, West Jefferson) seeks a Contract Logistics Specialist - Sanitation to maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment and support daily operations in a non-climate-controlled setting.

You will perform routine cleaning, sanitation, waste removal, spill response, and basic cleaning-equipment maintenance, while monitoring hazards and following safety procedures to ensure sanitation standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in warehousing, distribution, sanitation, janitorial, or related environment preferred.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods with protective footwear.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of warehouse floors, lobbies, common areas, restrooms, breakrooms, aisles, docks, work areas, equipment, and high-touch surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, remove debris, empty and maintain trash/recycling receptacles, and clean tools and sanitation equipment.
• Support spill response, safe material handling, and deep-cleaning projects.
• Organize cleaning supplies and maintain inventory levels.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE and lockout/tagout requirements and report hazards or equipment issues.
• Complete additional duties to support operational needs.

Contract Logistics Specialist - Sanitation

As a Contract Logistics Specialist - Sanitation at Kuehne+Nagel, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. Your attention to cleanliness and safe work practices will support daily operations and help the site meet established safety, quality, and sanitation standards. You will perform routine cleaning, sanitation, waste removal, spill response, and basic cleaning-equipment maintenance throughout warehouse and office areas. You will also monitor sanitation supplies and promptly report hazards, equipment concerns, or unsanitary conditions. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, flexible, and comfortable working throughout a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

How you create impact

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of warehouse floors, lobbies, common areas, conference rooms, restrooms, breakrooms, aisles, docks, work areas, equipment, and high-touch surfaces.


• Sweep, mop, remove debris, empty and maintain trash/recycling receptacles, and clean warehouse tools, carts, pallets, scrubbers, and sanitation equipment.


• Support spill response, safe material handling, and deep-cleaning, seasonal, and special cleaning projects in accordance with site procedures.


• Organize cleaning supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels of sanitation materials.


• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout requirements when applicable, and promptly report hazards, equipment issues, and unsanitary conditions.


• Complete additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

What we would like you to bring

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• At least 1 year of experience in a warehousing, distribution, sanitation, janitorial, or related environment preferred.

Experience Operating a Floor Scrubber Preferred

• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods while wearing steel-toe or composite-toe footwear.


• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with job requirements.


• Flexibility to remain after the scheduled shift when operational needs require.
