Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an Interim Controller to lead accounting operations on a contract basis. You will manage the month-end close, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.

The role requires leadership of accounting staff, coordination of audits, and implementation of process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy. It supports budgeting, financial analysis, and internal controls for client engagements during transitions or workload

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience required.
• 2+ years in a supervisory/management role required.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Manages month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Prepares and reviews financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Ensures GAAP compliance and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates and supports external audits and tax filings.
• Develops, implements, and monitors internal controls and accounting policies.
• Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for client management.
• Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Communicates financial information and recommendations to client leadership.
• Other duties as required.
