Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an Interim Accounting Manager to guide the accounting team through a transition period. This role ensures accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulatory standards, and operational excellence across all accounting functions.

You will lead hands-on, support process improvements, and deliver actionable insights to senior management, coordinating with external auditors and shaping budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of professional accounting experience including management responsibilities.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Experience in a professional services or public accounting environment (preferred).
• MS Excel at an advanced level (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepares balance sheet schedules and reconciliations.
• Forecasts requirements, budgets, and variances; recommends corrective actions.
• Monitors revenue/expenses; aggregates data for special reports.
• Oversees daily accounting operations: GL, AP/AR, payroll, month-end close.
• Prepares and analyzes GAAP/IFRS financial statements.
• Ensures internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates with external auditors; supports audits.
• Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities and implements best practices.
• Supports integration of new systems or business units.
• Provides timely, accurate financial information to senior management.
