Contract Immigration Attorney – Join a Fierce Advocacy Team Location: Fully Remote About Us The Gillman Immigration Law Firm is a fierce immigration firm dedicated to humanitarian relief and family-based immigration. Our mission is to zealously represent immigrant victims of domestic violence, crime, and family-based benefit petitions, providing compassionate advocacy for clients in complex, life-changing cases. Headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, we work tirelessly to help immigrants stay in the U.S., advocating for those impacted by humanitarian crises and supporting them in navigating the complexities of immigration law. Position Summary The attorney in this role must be licensed to practice law in at least one state. This role involves the review and evaluation of intake notes to determine eligibility for immigration relief and to determine the best legal strategy. Requires strong research and writing skills. This position is a 1099 contract position with the flexibility to work fully remote and no client interaction. Job Title: Experienced Immigration Contract Attorney (1099) Why Join Us? Responsibilities will include: ● Reviewing and analyzing initial case evaluation notes from our intake team to assess client eligibility for VAWA, T, and U visa cases. ● Providing legal insights and recommendations based on intake assessments to determine case viability. ● Ensuring compliance with immigration laws and policies throughout the case review process. ● Collaborating with our legal team to develop case strategies once eligibility is confirmed. Qualifications: ● Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. ● Licensed to practice law in the United States. ● Minimum of 3 years’ experience handling family petitions, marriage-based green cards, VAWA, T, and U visa cases. ● Strong understanding of family-based immigration, humanitarian relief processes, and initial case assessment methods. ● Removal defense experience. ● Excellent analytical and legal writing skills. ● Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Job Requirements: ● Member of at least one state bar. ● Experience working in immigration removal defense. ● Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and writing skills. ● Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and in crisis situations. ● Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and social service providers. Pay Rate: $75/hour Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include:● Reviewing and analyzing initial case evaluation notes from our intake team to assess client eligibility for VAWA, T, and U visa cases.● Providing legal insights and recommendations based on intake assessments to determine case viability.● Ensuring compliance with immigration laws and policies throughout the case review process.● Collaborating with our legal team to develop case strategies once eligibility is confirmed.
