Job summary

Westinghouse's WECTEC Staffing Services in Columbia is seeking a Contract Grid Inspector to safely perform dimensional and visual inspections of production parts, aligned with customer requirements. The role requires interpreting drawings and ensuring proper documentation of non-conforming material.

The candidate must be available for all shifts, able to lift 35 lbs, and pass safety-related screenings, with a preference for manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Available for all shifts.
• Must pass psychological/safety assessment.
• Must pass stringent background drug screen and medical.
• Can stand, sit, push, pull, kneel, bend and lift and carry 35 lbs.
• 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform detailed dimensional and visual inspection of production parts that are repetitive in nature based on customer requirements using standard measurement tools and gages.
• Safely perform an overcheck of shipping documents and records packages provided by our suppliers to ensure the records are accurate and validate Westinghouse expectations have been fulfilled.
• Read and interpret drawings, process information forms and standards to determine dimensional and skillfulness requirements.
• Review internal and external contract schedules and meet daily production needs.
• Use fundamental tools of non-conforming material including proper documentation in internal hold system.
• Communicate quality issues to all necessary levels of support promptly.
