Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Mechanical Quality Control Inspector through WECTEC Staffing Services. You will inspect piping, welds, and equipment to ensure compliance with project specs and industry standards, supporting QA/QC activities and documenting results.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, NDE/NDT Level II, 3-5 years of mechanical inspection in nuclear or heavy industrial environments, and the ability to read drawings and ASME codes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • NDE/NDT Level II certification preferred; Level III certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical inspection, QA/QC in nuclear, power, manufacturing, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes and quality assurance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.

  • Work closely with project teams, supervisors, and quality personnel to address quality concerns and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Support audits, surveillances, and quality oversight activities as required.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for inspecting mechanical components, piping systems, welds, and equipment to ensure work is completed according to project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable industry standards. This role supports quality assurance activities by verifying workmanship, reviewing documentation, identifying nonconforming conditions, and helping ensure projects are completed safely and accurately.

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training in a related field preferred.
  • NDE/NDT Level II certification preferred; Level III certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical inspection, QA/QC, or related experience in nuclear, power generation, manufacturing, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience supporting nuclear projects or regulated industrial facilities.
  • Experience inspecting piping systems, welds, and mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with quality documentation and inspection reporting processes.
