Job description

Overview

Contract faculty position for the Department of Social Work & Public Administration at Seton Hall University. The role is a one-year, full-time appointment involving teaching courses in Public Administration, conducting recruitment activities for the Department's graduate programs, and providing administrative support to the Department.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the MPA program dependent upon programmatic need, based on area of specialization. Expertise in nonprofit management and experiential education is highly desirable.
  • Support the University's commitment to grow enrollments and ensure the academic vibrancy of the Department's graduate programs through recruitment, training, and potentially publishing a newsletter.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, written communication skills, attention to detail
  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. or other doctoral-level degree) in Public Administration or related field
Desired Qualifications
  • Data driven and familiarity with reporting and analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and proven ability to learn and use new technology, including social media and university systems
  • Able and willing to work non-standard/varied working hours and to travel independently
