Job summary

Washington Performing Arts ushers serve on-site at partner venues, supporting front-of-house operations for scheduled events. You will greet patrons, assist with seating, and help with programs while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

This is a 1099 independent contractor role with hourly pay and per-event opportunities. You must be available for specified dates and dress in professional black-and-white attire.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to collaborate with staff and remain professional.
• Willingness to work in person on specific event dates at partner venues.

Responsibilities

• Advance arrival one hour for pre-show orientation with staff.
• Greet, answer questions, provide directions to patrons.
• Examine tickets, scan/tear tickets, distribute programs and direct patrons.
• Assist with late seating entrances and maintain orderly house.
• Ensure patron safety and coordinate with venue security as needed.
• Direct patrons to exits and manage lost-and-found items after performances.
