Job summary

Software Technology, Inc. is seeking a Contract Epidemiologist to support Expanded Nonfatal Overdose Surveillance under the OD2A grant in Nashville, TN. The role focuses on building and validating surveillance definitions, and integrating ESSENCE with REDCap and other systems.

You will train staff, develop monthly reports, and present trends to internal teams. Applicants should have a Master’s in Epidemiology and strong data-analysis and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Epidemiology or related field.
• Experience analyzing large administrative or surveillance datasets.
• Knowledge of surveillance systems and overdose surveillance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaboration in multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise in ESSENCE and support statewide nonfatal overdose surveillance.
• Collaborate on defining surveillance definitions for emerging substances.
• Support integration of ESSENCE data with REDCap and other systems.
• Train team members on ESSENCE workflows and data management.
• Produce standardized monthly overdose burden reports and assist with data interpretation.
• Present findings to internal stakeholders and provide technical guidance.
